Gods of War (武神, Bushin) are gigantic mechanized units which are controlled by a pilot or through remote operations. Compared to Mechanic Shells which are constrained by the bridge between man and machine, Gods of War are superior amongst mechanical units for its ability to replicate human reaction times in realtime, seemingly blurring the line between pilot and vehicle.

CharacteristicsEdit

Design-wise, Gods of War are mostly different to each other, with only the systems inside as the common trait among Gods of War. However, the anatomy of most Gods of War somewhat resembles a human body, with a humanoid shape and a nervous system wherein the pilot is "downloaded", and this would ease the pilot in controlling the God of War, which would replace the human body of the pilot while inside the God of War.

A pilot "rides" a God of War by converting him/her into data through disintegration, and downloading the converted pilot into the God of War's nervous system. After this, the pilot and the God of War is an inseparable pair that can only be separated when the pilot is converted back into its physical form, or when the God of War is destroyed, resulting in the death of the pilot. Another way to control a God of War is through integrating a mouse instead of a human pilot and using the mouse to control the God of War from outside.

Military DutiesEdit

Despite their superiority in battle, Gods of War are seldom used in large groups, and are often seen as single units joining an army of infantry and artillery. One reason for this is probably the immense costs of building a God of War and getting an experienced fighter to pilot said God of War.

SurveillanceEdit

The Testament Union utilizes Gods of War, especially aerial-type Gods of War like El Azul, in surveying the skies and watching for possible threats from the air. Among the usual targets of God of War surveillance is the ship Musashi, which is part of the provisional rule over the Far East, and any group activity that involves aerial vehicles like air races, which are prohibited.

ClassificationEdit

Gods of War are often classified using its overall weight (Light, Medium and Heavy Gods of War).

TriviaEdit

  • The term "God of War" is a pun on the Japanese word for "military retainer" (武臣, also Bushin).
